We’ve all heard the phrase “Like father, like son”. This commentary certainly rings true when it comes to national M1 Carbine records. In 2015 Mark Stout II set a junior national record for the M1 Carbine at the Camp Perry National Matches using a Fulton Armory-built carbine featuring a chrome lined Criterion barrel. Victor Betzold set another national record with a different Fulton build featuring a Criterion barrel on the very same day with a score of 375-6X.
Mark Stout Sr. recently broke the adult national record at Camp Perry earlier this summer at the National Carbine Match with a remarkable score of 380 – 7x. This record setting performance is the third set with Criterion barrels in just as many years.
Mark II and Mark Sr. aren’t the only Stouts to compete at the National Matches. Connor Stout, age 14, placed fourth overall junior at the matches. With Mark II bumping up to adult classification next year Connor will be in contention for high junior at the National Matches in 2018.
Per the Criterion Barrels Inc. policy for shooters who set national records with Criterion products, we have issued a complimentary barrel to Mark Sr. to celebrate his accomplishment. We’re looking forward to seeing how the three Stouts perform at the 2018 Carbine Match!
