Description
Introduced in 1999, our Hybrid contour is a mid-weight government contour. This was our first entry aiming to improve the performance over traditional government contours. The additional weight around the chamber increases heat absorption and rigidity over conventional designs. Because of its mid-weight design, our Hybrid contour is able to handle high heat while maintaining exceptional performance – even during extreme use and high rates of fire. The proven Hybrid design produces consistent harmonics and improves precision while remaining balanced for use in the field.

Include a bolt, bolt carrier group, gas block, and gas tube that pair well with our barrels. Our headspace service guarantees optimal bolt to barrel fitment using premeasured bolts and certified headspace gauges. This helps to maximize the performance and function of your build. HEADSPACE
Headspace (the bolt to barrel fitment), must be checked for optimal performance and reliability. Proper headspace produces consistent chamber pressures and seating depths which results in increased accuracy and reliability, while reducing wear and tear on internal parts and components.

I bought the 12.5″ barrel for use on an eventual SBR. I was kinda worried when I finally got it installed and to the range. I’ve been disappointed in so many other top tier barrels. Well, I ended up giggling and laughing so hard after shooting this barrel. It’s such a smooth shooter, and with an A5 buffer system, I barely felt any recoil with M193. With match ammo, it was easily under 1 MOA as long as I did my part. Even with regular ball ammo, the largest group I got with Federal American Eagle, Winchester white box and Hornady Frontier was 1.25 MOA. I’m not even what anyone calls a decent precision shooter. The only thing I didn’t get to test is how it works with a suppressor. Seeing how soft it shoot while still properly ejecting brass (distance and angle), I can’t imagine I’ll have a problem when I finally get my can out of jail. Criterion barrels are the nuts!
