Hybrid Rifle-length 6.5 Barrels
Criterion’s rifle-length 6.5 Hybrid barrel is a mid-weight government contour barrel for large frame DPMS pattern rifles. The additional weight around the chamber increases heat absorption and rigidity over conventional designs.
Why 6.5 Hybrid?
- Added chamber material - increases heat absorption and rigidity
- Mid-weight design - reliably handles high heat while maintaining exceptional performance
- 6.5 Creedmoor chamber - offers significantly less recoil and the ability to shoot flatter and faster than the traditional .308
- Stainless Steel - natural corrosion resistant and improved barrel break-in
- Honed - refines bore for superior uniformity to reduce bullet deformation
- Hand-lapped - essential for accuracy and to minimize fouling
- Polished chamber - reliable extraction and feeding
- Rifle gas system - optimized gas port for suppressed and unsuppressed use
- 0.750" gas journal - easy and secure installation
- 5/8x24 muzzle threads - compatible with most muzzle devices and suppressors
- Precision-machined barrel extension - safe and reliable feeding
Why Headspace Matters
Purchasing a headspaced bolt is not required. However, Criterion's headspace service guarantees optimal bolt to barrel fitment using premeasured bolts and certified headspace gauges, helping to maximize the performance and function of your build.
Headspace (the critical measurement from the bolt face to the shoulder of the chamber), must be checked for optimal performance and reliability. Proper headspace produces consistent chamber pressures and seating depths which results in increased accuracy and reliability, while reducing wear and tear on internal parts and components.
